The Office of International Student and Scholar Services provides advising services to international student and scholars on immigration, legal, personal, cultural, social and financial issues.
The GRE requirement waiver has been extended through Fall 2023. Duolingo will continue to be accepted for the English Proficiency Test through Fall 2023.

Admissions

Requirements:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher in upper level undergraduate work
  • Minimum one year of work experience with a written letter from your employers 
  • Non-thesis option with a total of ten in-person courses
  • Standard graduate admission requirements
  • Total program cost: $20,000 for a degree in one academic year (12 or 16 month options), including possible internship/job opportunities

FIU is now accepting the Duolingo English Test for Fall 2022 admission. The Duolingo English Test is very straight forward and easy to sign up. Test takers can do everything from the comfort of their own home and device with an internet connection and webcam. To sign up, simply go to the Duolingo English Test website: https://englishtest.duolingo.com/ (Open with Firefox) and follow the instructions there. The test is $49 USD, takes about 1-hour to complete and is computer adaptive. FIU’s minimum score requirement is a 105. Test scores are available approximately 48 hours after the test has been completed. It is free to the test taker to send test scores to multiple accepting institutions.
