Aleksandr (Alex) Krasnok is an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University, where he leads the Quantum Technology & Metamaterials (QTM) Lab. His research focuses on quantum photonics, metasurfaces, complex-frequency electrodynamics, and quantum sensing for advanced wave control and quantum-enabled technologies.

Proposed AREAS OF EXPERTISE
- Complex-frequency electrodynamics; non-Hermitian scattering (poles/zeros, BICs/embedded eigenstates, virtual critical coupling)
- Quantum photonics and interfaces (circuit/cavity QED, photonic readout, microwave–optical links)
- Error-resilient quantum control and algorithms (robust pulse shaping, crosstalk suppression, NISQ workflows)
- Dielectric nanophotonics and metasurfaces (Mie resonators, inverse design, phase-change/reconfigurable metadevices)
- Quantum sensing and metrology (cryogenic dielectric resonators, metasurface-enhanced sensing)
- Wireless power transfer and resonant energy transfer (coherent/complex-waveform-enabled concepts)
