UF-FIU Reactor Sharing Program
A group from Florida International University (FIU) recently traveled to the University of Florida (UF) to participate in the UF-FIU Reactor Sharing Program. This collaboration provided FIU students and researchers with hands-on training in key areas of nuclear engineering and reactor operations.
During the program, participants engaged in specialized training covering:
- Nuclear Engineering and Reactor Essentials
- Radiation Detection Essentials
- Neutronics and Thermal Hydraulics Evaluation of Small Modular Reactors While Load Following
- Approach to Criticality
Through this initiative, FIU participants gained valuable experience in nuclear reactor fundamentals and advanced reactor technologies, enhancing their knowledge and practical skills in the field.
The UF-FIU Reactor Sharing Program fosters academic collaboration and strengthens expertise in nuclear science and engineering, providing students with unique learning opportunities that bridge theory and real-world applications.
